Ninjacart is India's Largest Agri marketing platform, solving one of the toughest supply chain problems through technology. We connect vegetables and fruits farmers directly with businesses. At one end, we help farmers get better prices and deal with consistent demand and on another end, we help retailers to source fresh vegetables at competitive prices directly from farmers. We do this effectively at lower cost, better speed and larger scale using integrated supply chain powered by technology, data science, infrastructure and logistics network.

We move one 140 Tonnes of vegetables from farm to 2200+ retailers on daily basis within 12 hours in Bangalore and Chennai. We are 600 people company. We work with 3000+ farmers. We aim to grow to 1000 tonnes of daily volumes in the next 18 months.

As a Zonal Business Manager, you are a “Mini CEO” of the territory in a city and would handle end to end business and operations to grow and deliver business targets. Each territory is served by the Distribution Center (DC) and in this entrepreneurial role, you will manage complete DC operations and have ownership on functions such as sales, operations and transport and would drive key metrics like customer addition, volume growth, on time delivery, fulfillment and consistent quality

A city like Bangalore would have 10 territories and each territory would have 15 localities

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive Volume growth and PnL for the territory in Bangalore

  • Drive sales team to achieve customer addition and retention targets. Increase daily active count and number of orders while maintaining lower returns and collections issues

  • Drive SKU growth and penetration

  • Manage distribution center operations to ensure on-time dispatch and 100% fulfillment - this also includes managing labor force, facilities management

  • Build local logistics network to ensure on-time delivery - 365 days at as low cost as possible. Drive driver retention and SOP adherence

  • Control the cost of operating distribution center, logistics and sales function and ensure consistent profitability of your territory

  • Hire, build and scale the territory team

  • Own people metrics of the territory - Drive employee engagement and reduce attrition

Growth & Learning Opportunities

  • This role is highly entrepreneurial provides the tremendous amount of opportunity to learn end to end of all business function - Sales, operations, Transport and HR

  • Growth: Best performing territory business heads would grow into the Zonal Business Head and eventually as City Business Head

  • You will report into COO

  • You would be managing 60+ resources as a layered team

Requirements

  • MBA from Tier-I/Tier-II colleges

  • 3+ years of experience in sales or general management with a strong track record of consistent achievement

  • 2+ years of People management experience must

  • Highly entrepreneurial and have the desire to startup someday

  • Basic understanding of PnL or passion to learn

  • The ability to build and drive effective collaborative relationships among teams and effectively operate and deliver in a high performing environment

  • Ability to manage time and juggle multiple priorities to execute high-quality deliverables

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and the ability to influence others
