Ninjacart is India's Largest agri marketing platform, solving one of the toughest supply chain problems through technology. We connect vegetables and fruits farmers directly with businesses. At one end, we help farmers get better prices and deal with consistent demand and on another end, we help retailers to source fresh vegetables at competitive prices directly from farmers. We do this effectively at lower cost, better speed and larger scale using integrated supply chain powered by technology, data science, infrastructure and logistics network.

 

We move one 140 Tonnes of vegetables from farm to 2200+ retailers on daily basis within 12 hours in Bangalore and Chennai. We are 600 people company. We work with 3000+ farmers. We aim to grow to 1000 tonnes of daily volumes in next 18 months.

We are in an aggressive growth phase thus looking for leader who is fungible, has ability and hunger to work in diverse start-up settings in functions ranging from Sales, Sourcing, Category management and Drive PnL. As a VP - Business, you will drive sustainable growth, profitability, people capability and prepare us for tomorrow

 

Responsibilities

  • Growth. Growth. Growth

  • You will be responsible for leading cross functional teams to grow our supply, demand and growth, while ensuring profitability

  • You will design, develop, implement sustainable processes, people capability and execution capability for sales, sourcing and category management functions

  • You are a subject matter expert on growth and responsible for identifying innovative ways to grow faster

  • Build a strong customer centric value proposition, influence cross functional teams to deliver the same - day in day out

  • Deliver key metrics such as Volume growth, customer growth, SKU penetration, Famer network development, Gross Margin, Retention, Basket size and other health metrics

  • Prepare Ninjacart growth teams for tomorrow - Define and build process, people capability and capacity to deliver business growth needs

  • Improve consistency, reliability and predictability of Ninjacart Business functions

  • Develop a strong people capability, training and ecosystem to build tomorrow’s business leaders

  • Drive the maturity of different business functions such as Sales, sourcing and category to delight level and make these functions future ready

Requirements

  • Strong academic and professional credentials with a proven track record of outstanding accomplishment and progression

  • 10+ years of experience in Sales - Preferably FMCG / consumer durables companies

  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer

  • Subject matter expert in Sales, people development, process design and implementation

  • Experience in daily sales cycle and retention is a big plus

  • Experience in capability building, scale teams volume wise is a big plus

  • Strong believer of technology and ability to leverage the same to drive efficiency

  • Strong people manager - handled layered teams with more than 200+ people - Experience with team development, performance management and delivering results

  • Strong process and data orientation - Ability to think strategically and execute tactically

  • Demonstrated ability to influence Board level executives to on-field executives.

  • High degree of business ethics and accountability

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Should be analytically very strong and will be responsible for dealing with the support team and the priority issues
